Dillon Brooks spent part of his offseason learning kung fu in China. Because of course he did. The Suns forward traveled to the Wudang Mountains, where he trained in kung fu and studied Daoism.
Suns forward Dillon Brooks revealed during Media Day that he spent part of his offseason in China training in kung fu and studying Daoism in the Wudang Mountains. When asked how his training might apply to basketball, Brooks joked that he would dropkick anyone who upsets him, particularly referees wearing stripes.
Despite the joke, Brooks explained that his time in China helped him learn to center himself, simplify his life, and focus. The forward, who led the NBA with 17 technical fouls last season, plans to apply this calmer, centered mindset to his preparation alongside his well-known persona.
