Sterling put in two impressive performances in the back to back wins over Celtic before the international break

Former Rangers full-back Alan Hutton stated that Dujon Sterling has the key attributes required to succeed departed captain James Tavernier at right-back. Following impressive displays under manager Derek McInnes in consecutive derby wins over Celtic, Hutton praised Sterling's pace, aggression, and one-on-one defensive capabilities, noting that Rangers no longer rely on their right-back to supply high attacking numbers.
Hutton also highlighted that staying fit is the primary challenge for Sterling, who has faced injury struggles in the past. While Sterling faces new competition from Aston Villa loanee Kosta Nedeljkovic, Hutton believes Sterling remains the first-choice option as long as he stays healthy and remains focused in his set position.
