Lewis Hamilton believes the decision to host a Sprint race in Monaco is not the answer F1 is seeking.

Lewis Hamilton has criticized Formula 1's decision to stage a Sprint event at the Monaco Grand Prix in 2027, stating the move makes no sense. The Principality is set to host the shorter format for the first time as part of a record 10 Sprints across the 2027 season, with F1 aiming to provide two qualifying sessions to improve the weekend's entertainment.
Hamilton, a three-time winner in Monaco, stated that adding a Sprint race will not solve the venue's chronic lack of overtaking. While he acknowledged having an additional qualifying session is a positive, he emphasized that Monaco requires a unique formula rather than standard race changes, labeling the main grand prix as dull as it gets.
