Bridgestone is returning to an FIA world championship in the upcoming Formula E campaign for the first time since departing F1 at the end of 2010.

Bridgestone has unveiled its new tyres in Rome ahead of becoming the sole tyre supplier for the Formula E World Championship starting in the 2026/27 season. The deal marks the Japanese manufacturer's return to an FIA world championship for the first time since departing Formula 1 at the end of 2010. The bespoke Potenza Gen4 tyres are specifically designed to support the upcoming Gen4 car, which boasts 815bhp and a top speed of 335 km/h.
To meet long-standing driver demands, Bridgestone also introduced the Potenza Gen4 for Typhoon tyre for severe wet-weather conditions. Sustainability serves as a key focus of the design, with 65 percent of each tyre comprised of recycled and renewable materials, including silica from rice husks and tyre-derived carbon black. Manufacturing will rely entirely on renewable energy alongside low-carbon logistics.
