D-backs Outright Jesús Sánchez

Outfielder Jesús Sánchez cleared waivers and was assigned outright to Triple-A Reno by the Arizona Diamondbacks. Sánchez was previously designated for assignment and holds the right to elect free agency following the transaction. Arizona had originally claimed him off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays on September 14, but he recorded only two hits in 15 at-bats across six games.

Sánchez finished the season with a .254/.311/.401 slash line alongside significant defensive regression, posting -10 Defensive Runs Saved in limited outfield innings. Rather than tendering him a contract and a raise on his $6.8 million salary in his final arbitration year, Arizona opted to outright him, positioning Sánchez to seek a new deal on the open market.
