Emma Navarro has shared an emotional insight into the health issues that have plagued her for nearly three years.

Emma Navarro has announced that she will end her 2026 season early after revealing a multi-year battle with health challenges. In an Instagram post, the 25-year-old American disclosed that she was diagnosed in late 2025 with Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S) alongside Hashimoto's hypothyroidism. After pushing herself to exhaustion and losing 30 pounds across 2023 and 2024, Navarro decided to skip the Asian swing to focus on her health.
Navarro addressed recent scrutiny regarding her physique, confirming she gained weight as part of an extensive recovery process involving diet adjustments, medication, and specialists. She reported significant improvements in her cognitive function and energy levels. The 2026 US Open quarterfinalist confirmed plans to return to competition in Australia for the 2027 season.
