After a number of podium finishes, Max Verstappen is hoping to make it to the top step before the end of the 2026 season.

Max Verstappen has stated his target is to win at least one race before the 2026 Formula 1 season concludes. Speaking ahead of the race weekend, the four-time World Champion highlighted that consecutive podium finishes demonstrate Red Bull is getting closer to victory despite a difficult campaign that leaves the team fourth in the standings.
Verstappen recently finished less than two tenths behind Mercedes driver George Russell in Azerbaijan, sharing the podium with teammate Isack Hadjar. While acknowledging Red Bull is out of the championship battle, Verstappen noted that the remaining races will serve as crucial preparation and learning for the 2027 season.
