Kevin Foote believes the Springboks’ defeat to the Wallabies in Perth should not be viewed as a warning sign over their depth going into the World Cup.

Junior Boks head coach Kevin Foote has defended the Springboks' squad depth following their 42-38 defeat against the Wallabies in Perth. Springboks head coach Rassie Erasmus made 13 changes to his starting lineup for the Test match at Optus Stadium to evaluate fringe players ahead of the 2027 World Cup.
Foote argued that the loss should not cause concern for the coaching staff, attributing the performance to demanding travel schedules and lack of time to build on-field combinations. He emphasized that the setback will provide valuable motivation for South Africa heading into the World Cup.
