The Story in 60 Seconds

The Carolina Panthers have placed starting cornerbacks Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson on injured reserve ahead of their Sunday Night Football matchup against the Detroit Lions. Both defensive backs were injured during Carolina's Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns, with Horn suffering a quad injury and Jackson sustaining a groin issue. Consequently, both players must miss at least the next four games.

With Horn and Jackson sidelined, Will Lee III and Akayleb Evans are expected to take over starting duties. The depleted secondary presents a challenge against Detroit quarterback Jared Goff, who has thrown for 802 yards, eight touchdowns, and zero interceptions this season. Carolina also reported injuries to Monroe Freeling, Damien Lewis, Jalen Coker, and Xavier Legette.
