The Detroit Lions will face the Carolina Panthers in Week 4 on Sunday Night Football in Charlotte. Lions head coach Dan Campbell acknowledged the challenge of facing head coach Dave Canales' squad, who enter the matchup looking to rebound from a loss. The Panthers lead the NFL in passing yards per game at 295.7 behind quarterback Bryce Young and offensive coordinator Brad Idzik, despite allowing a league-high 43.6 percent pressure rate.
Defensively, coordinator Ejiro Evero oversees a hybrid 3-4 scheme that ranks fifth against the pass by allowing only 172.3 yards per contest. However, Carolina has struggled against the run, ranking last in the NFL by surrendering 193.3 rushing yards per game and 5.7 yards per carry through three games.
