Leicester City set to complete statement deal for free agent midfielder

Leicester City are set to complete the signing of free agent midfielder Will Smallbone, according to a report from John Percy. The Midlands club will reportedly secure the 26-year-old former Southampton player on a three-year contract as they aim to boost their promotion bid.

The move reunites the Republic of Ireland international with Leicester City manager Russell Martin, whom he played under during Southampton's 2023/24 promotion campaign. Smallbone joins the Foxes with 99 Championship appearances following significant reported interest from multiple second-tier clubs.
