After starting the first two weeks of the season on the road and winning their first game last week against the Ravens, the New Orleans Saints…

The New Orleans Saints fell 35-27 to the Las Vegas Raiders in their home opener, dropping their season record to 1-2. After building an 11-point lead in the third quarter behind touchdown catches from Juwan Johnson and Noah Fant, New Orleans surrendered 19 unanswered second-half points. Raiders quarterback Kirk Cousins threw for 248 yards and three touchdowns to lead Las Vegas to victory.
Turnovers proved costly for the Saints in the fourth quarter, as quarterback Tyler Shough suffered a strip sack recovered by Maxx Crosby followed by an interception by Hezekiah Masses. That turnover set up a decisive touchdown reception by Raiders tight end Brock Bowers, who finished the contest with 116 receiving yards. The Saints host the Atlanta Falcons in their next game on Monday, October 5.
