A’s part ways with assistant hitting, quality control coaches

The Athletics announced on Thursday that they will not retain hitting coach Chris Cron or quality control coach Marcus Jensen for their 2027 coaching staff. Cron had served as hitting coach alongside Mike Aldrete since 2024, while Aldrete and director of hitting Darren Bush will remain with the team.

Jensen had been a member of the Athletics' coaching staff since 2015 before shifting to quality control coach in 2023. Oakland's offense tied for 20th in runs scored during the season while navigating multiple injuries to key hitters.
