PBN’s Pirates Top 30 Prospects: Debate Starts After Seth Hernandez

Pittsburgh Baseball Now released its updated top 30 prospects ranking for the Pittsburgh Pirates minor-league system, naming right-handed pitcher Seth Hernandez as the organization's undisputed top prospect. Following the graduations of former top prospects including Konnor Griffin and Bubba Chandler, Hernandez took the top spot after being selected sixth overall in the 2025 draft.

While Hernandez leads the system, the outlet notes that debate begins for the second spot among outfielder Edward Florentino, third baseman Murf Gray, and 2026 first-rounder Derek Curiel. Florentino, Gray, and Curiel claim the second, third, and fourth spots on the updated list, respectively.
