Tristan Luneau is $43.2 million dollars richer.

The Anaheim Ducks have signed defenseman Tristan Luneau to a historic six-year, $43.2 million contract extension averaging $7.2 million annually. The deal marks the largest contract ever given to a player with only 14 games of NHL experience. Ducks general manager Pat Verbeek stated that securing Luneau to a long-term contract was a priority, viewing the 22-year-old as a key top-four defenseman for the team's future.
Luneau is projected to open the season on Anaheim's top defensive pairing alongside Jackson LaCombe. Selected in the second round of the 2022 draft, Luneau has recorded two goals and four points in his NHL career, alongside 95 points in 135 AHL games with San Diego.
