Ryan Nembhard is joining the Denver Nuggets on a two-way contract, landing with a contender after a short, unsettled stretch that took him through three organizations in a matter of months, via ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Guard Ryan Nembhard is joining the Denver Nuggets on a two-way contract, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. The 23-year-old became an unrestricted free agent after clearing waivers following his release by the Charlotte Hornets. Denver reportedly faced competition from multiple teams offering two-way deals before successfully securing the former undrafted point guard.
To make room on the roster for Nembhard, the Nuggets will waive guard KJ Simpson, according to Bennett Durando of the Denver Post. Nembhard previously played 60 games for the Dallas Mavericks, averaging 6.6 points and 5.3 assists, before being traded twice during the offseason and subsequently waived by Charlotte.
