The Story in 60 Seconds

Purple Row's Skyler Timmins reviewed Edouard Julien's 2026 campaign with the Colorado Rockies, ranking him at No. 52 after recording a -1.0 rWAR. Acquired in a trade from the Minnesota Twins, the 27-year-old infielder produced a strong April but struggled significantly in subsequent months. Julien was ultimately designated for assignment in August and outrighted to Triple-A Albuquerque after batting .208/.322/.292 across 88 major-league games.

While Julien demonstrated solid plate discipline with 39 walks and a 14.1% walk rate, Timmins argues that his high groundball rate and lack of power limited offensive results. Timmins also highlights severe defensive shortcomings at second base, where Julien posted -7 Defensive Runs Saved over 467.1 innings, concluding that Julien will likely become a free agent in the offseason.
