The New Orleans Saints placed running back Travis Etienne Jr. on injured reserve on Thursday due to a left hamstring injury suffered against the Las Vegas Raiders. The move sidelines the offseason addition for at least four games, making his earliest possible return Week 9 against the Cleveland Browns. Head coach Kellen Moore confirmed the injury will not require surgery.
With Etienne sidelined, veteran Alvin Kamara and Kendre Miller are set to absorb the majority of snaps in the backfield. The Saints also signed Ulysses Bentley IV to the practice squad and elevated wide receiver Kevin Austin to fill the vacant active roster spot ahead of their matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.
