New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has an opportunity to reclaim the lead backfield role after Travis Etienne Jr. was placed on injured reserve with an aggravated hamstring injury. Etienne will miss at least four games starting with Monday night's matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Kamara, who missed the season opener with a knee sprain, has recorded 51 rushing yards on 18 carries across two appearances this season.
Duncan Day reports that Kamara now has a four-game window to prove he can handle a heavy workload at age 31. Head coach Kellen Moore may also utilize running backs Kendre Miller and CJ Donaldson to share offensive touches during Etienne's absence.
