Major League Baseball will not pursue staging a regular-season game at Wyoming's Grand Teton National Park following local pushback. Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred announced the decision in letters to local officials, including Teton County Commissioner Chair Mark Newcomb and Jackson Mayor Arne Jorgensen, as well as U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich.
Manfred clarified that the league was only conducting initial due diligence on multiple potential venues and had never finalized formal plans or environmental assessments. After community leaders voiced strong concerns over the venue's suitability, Manfred confirmed MLB would cease evaluating the national park as a host site.
