Will Smallbone signed a three-year contract at Leicester City and reunites with former Southampton boss Russell Martin

Midfielder Will Smallbone has signed a three-year contract with Leicester City on a free transfer, reuniting with manager Russell Martin. The 26-year-old previously played under Martin at Southampton, contributing to their promotion to the Premier League in 2024. He becomes Martin's 15th signing for the Foxes.
Daily Echo reporter Dan Hargreaves praised Smallbone, predicting he will "absolutely fly" in League One due to his box-to-box qualities and tactical familiarity with Martin. Smallbone made 50 appearances during Southampton's promotion campaign before recent spells under Will Still and on loan at Millwall.
