The Edmonton Oilers' offseason solution to their goaltending problem has already failed two games into the season.

Writer Nestor Quixtan argues that the Edmonton Oilers' new goaltending plan is already failing just two games into the season. Opening-night starter Tristan Jarry conceded six goals on 23 shots in a 6-5 overtime loss to the Vancouver Canucks, while Devon Levi stopped only 15 of 22 shots as Edmonton nearly blew an 8-2 lead before securing a 9-7 win over Vancouver on Thursday night.
Quixtan highlights that the Oilers sought to stabilize the net by acquiring Jarry, Levi, and injured veteran Frederik Andersen, who is sidelined with a knee injury and unlikely to return before December. The writer suggests general manager Stan Bowman may soon have to explore the trade market again if Jarry and Levi do not swiftly improve.
