The New Jersey Devils have been a team showing immense potential through the past few years, but whether it be due to injuries or deals going wrong, the team are yet to take the final leap towards being true Stanley…

New Jersey Devils prospect Seamus Casey will undergo surgery following an injury sustained during a preseason game against the New York Rangers. Head Coach Sheldon Keefe confirmed the procedure, stating that the 22-year-old defenseman is expected to face an eight- to ten-week recovery timeline ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The setback disrupts Casey's opportunity to earn a full-time spot on the NHL roster after spending time with the AHL's Utica Comets. A former second-round pick in 2022, Casey has registered 37 points in 59 AHL games over the past two seasons.
