Former Suns Sixth Man of the Year Eddie Johnson is hosting a three-day charity event to help single moms get to college

Former NBA standout and Phoenix Suns broadcaster Eddie Johnson is hosting a three-day charity event to help low-income single mothers attend college. The event includes a celebrity golf round at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale, a poker tournament, and a Saturday gala. Johnson, who grew up in a single-parent household, aims to remove barriers to education by providing financial assistance.
Over the past 12 years, Johnson has raised more than $3 million through these annual events, with 2026 marking the largest effort yet. Several prominent sports figures participated in the event, including Julius Erving, Byron Scott, Tyrone Corbin, Tim Kempton, Mark West, and former NFL receiver Frank Sanders.
