A quality defensive prospect for the New Jersey Devils will miss the first few months of the 2026-27 campaign. The Devils announced that Seamus Casey recently underwent knee surgery, with a projected recovery timeline of eight to 10 weeks.
New Jersey Devils defenseman Seamus Casey recently underwent knee surgery and faces a recovery timeline of eight to 10 weeks. The 22-year-old injured his knee during a preseason matchup against the New York Rangers on September 24. Consequently, Devils head coach Sheldon Keefe will be without Casey until late November or early December.
This marks another significant medical setback for Casey, who missed most of the 2025-26 season following an earlier knee surgery in February. When active during his 2024-25 rookie campaign, Casey recorded four goals and eight points in 14 games for New Jersey, along with 18 points in 30 appearances for the AHL's Utica Comets.
