Jalen Duren's restricted free agency saga ended after he agreed to a five-year, $200 million fully guaranteed contract with the Detroit Pistons. Pistons owner Tom Gores personally contacted the 22-year-old center on Thursday to help finalize the agreement and pledged to provide him and his family with a more positive experience.
The relationship between Duren and the franchise reportedly required mending after contentious negotiations. Duren felt disrespected by initial contract offers, while the Pistons previously held concerns regarding his conditioning over his first three seasons with the team.
