Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff is attempting a late-season comeback and hopes to return to the mound if the team makes a deep postseason run. Woodruff canceled plans for season-ending shoulder surgery in August following positive imaging and recently completed a five-week throwing program. Surgeon Dr. Keith Meister cleared him to begin throwing off a mound soon.
Woodruff must still throw off a mound, face hitters, and prove his health over the coming weeks to be considered for a potential World Series appearance. Meanwhile, Brewers president of baseball operations Matt Arnold and manager Pat Murphy are finalizing their 26-man National League Division Series roster ahead of Game 1 against the San Diego Padres.
