San Jose Sharks veteran forward Alex Wennberg has embraced a mentorship role for rookie linemate Ivar Stenberg, drawing on his experience as a father of three and a fellow Swedish native. Stenberg, selected second overall by San Jose in 2026, shares a similar hockey background with Wennberg through the Frolunda system in Sweden.
Wennberg is actively guiding the 18-year-old through the transition to the NHL, including adjusting to the league's speed and language barriers. Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky praised Wennberg's high-level reading of the game and character as key assets for the rebuilding squad.
