The San Jose Barracuda have named forward Jimmy Huntington as the seventh captain in franchise history ahead of their season opener. The 27-year-old enters his second season with the American Hockey League affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, having previously served as an alternate captain during the prior campaign.
Head coach John McCarthy praised Huntington's leadership and team-first mentality when announcing the decision. Huntington is set to wear the captain's "C" for the first time on Saturday night, when the Barracuda host the San Diego Gulls.
