Trevor Connelly had a spectacular first game for the Vegas Golden Knights. Here's how he can build off that momentum.

Writer Jacob Walters analyzes what rookie winger Trevor Connelly must do to secure a long-term spot with the Vegas Golden Knights following a successful NHL debut. The 20-year-old scored a goal in a 5-2 opening-game victory against the Chicago Blackhawks at T-Mobile Arena after recording 14 goals and 35 assists the prior season with the Henderson Silver Knights.
Walters argues that Connelly can maintain momentum by avoiding overconfidence and consistently relying on his strengths, such as puck-handling and attacking the net. Because Connelly is waiver-exempt, Walters notes that the winger must remain productive to avoid being reassigned to the minors.
