West Ham have been without the midfielder so far this season after he picked up an injury playing at the World Cup.

West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek has stepped up his recovery from an ankle ligament injury by featuring in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Friday. The Czech Republic international played 65 minutes and scored alongside Joel Piroe as West Ham defeated Wycombe Wanderers 2-0 at Rush Green. Soucek had been sidelined all season after sustaining the injury during the World Cup.
The 31-year-old's return comes ahead of West Ham's Championship match against QPR next Friday night. Manager Nuno Espirito Santo's side currently sit second in the table behind Swansea City. Soucek, who joined the club in 2020, has entered the final 12 months of his contract, which is set to expire in June 2027.
