It’s already been over 90 days since Jannik Sinner lifted the Wimbledon title after defeating Alexander Zverev in the final. At that time, no one could have expected that the Italian would be forced to miss the next three Masters…

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner has publicly apologized to fans on Instagram after withdrawing from the Rolex Shanghai Masters due to a lingering right knee injury. The Italian star's withdrawal means he will skip the entire Asian swing, having also previously pulled out of the China Open in Beijing as well as earlier Masters events in Canada and Cincinnati.
Sinner now aims to recover in time for the Paris Masters starting on November 2. Meanwhile, Alexander Zverev sits 1,370 ranking points behind Sinner and could challenge for the World No. 1 ranking, especially after defeating Cameron Norrie 7-6, 6-4 in the China Open first round.
