Jesper Wallstedt faces Michael DiPietro in a rare goaltending showdown as the Wild host their home opener against a Boston team missing key stars to injury and suspension.
The Minnesota Wild host the Boston Bruins for their Saturday night home opener in St. Paul. Goaltender Jesper Wallstedt gets the start for Minnesota, facing Boston for the first time in his career. The Bruins counter with Michael DiPietro, who makes his first NHL start since January 2022 after Jeremy Swayman played in an overtime victory the previous night.
Minnesota enters the contest with an unchanged lineup following their season-opening win, though Filip Gustavsson and Brock Faber remain sidelined with injuries. The Bruins are missing Matthew Poitras due to injury and Charlie McAvoy due to suspension.
