The Wild started strong in their season-opening win over the Nashville Predators.

The Minnesota Wild opened their season with a 3-1 road victory against the Nashville Predators on Thursday night. Writer Chris Schad identified the Foligno brothers, Blake Coleman, and Jesper Wallstedt as key winners from the game. Nick Foligno and Coleman each scored first-period goals, while Kirill Kaprizov added a third-period tally following a hit by Marcus Foligno. Goaltender Wallstedt stopped 19 of 20 shots to earn the victory.
Conversely, Schad named center Ryan Hartman and local viewers as the game's losers. Hartman negated a potential goal due to goaltender interference and took a penalty that led to Roman Josi's goal for Nashville. Additionally, Schad highlighted fan frustration over broadcast availability, as carriage agreements for the new Wild+ streaming service were not finalized on Comcast/Xfinity and DirecTV before puck drop.
