The Diamondbacks finished the season at 86-76 but just barely missed the playoffs via the Phillies’ win over the Rays on the final day of the regular season.
Arizona Diamondbacks general manager Mike Hazen announced that the team will prioritize acquiring left-handed bats this offseason to improve against right-handed pitching. After missing the postseason with an 86-76 record, Arizona aims to upgrade its roster with manager Torey Lovullo remaining under contract for at least two more seasons.
Hazen indicated targeted additions could focus on first base and designated hitter, where Arizona ranked near the bottom of the league in wRC+. However, additions must align with reduced payroll plans announced by owner Ken Kendrick.
