The Carolina Panthers have placed wide receiver Xavier Legette on injured reserve due to a knee injury suffered in Week 2 against the Atlanta Falcons. The move sidelines the former first-round draft pick for at least the next four games, keeping him out through Week 8 at minimum due to Carolina's Week 5 bye.
The setback comes during what Legette previously termed a do-or-die third season in Carolina. Meanwhile, the Panthers elevated Ja’seem Reed and cornerback Robert Rochelle from the practice squad, while rookie right tackle Monroe Freeling cleared concussion protocol ahead of Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions.
