Nathan MacKinnon tallied three assists, and goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood made 25 saves to earn his second victory of the campaign.

Colorado took control early, leading 2-0 after the first period before scoring four times in the second frame against Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington. Binnington stopped 30 shots after conceding six goals through 40 minutes. Deen criticized Binnington's positioning throughout the game, noting that the netminder has now surrendered 16 goals across his last three appearances against the Avalanche.
