Washington Nationals prospect Jarlin Susana pitched three and a third innings in a 9-4 victory for the Salt River Rafters over the Glendale Desert Dogs. Susana allowed one hit and recorded four strikeouts while consistently throwing his fastball in the low 100s. Fellow Nationals prospects Kevin Bazzell and Teo Banks also started the Arizona Fall League contest.
Bazzell reached base three times, drove in a run, and caught all nine innings, while Banks went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a stolen base. Reliever Owen Puk also made an unannounced appearance in the ninth inning, allowing a three-run double with bases loaded.
