Manchester United are not currently planning a January transfer move for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta. The club views Mateta as a potential option for experienced cover, but another striker is not seen as an immediate priority with Benjamin Sesko and Joshua Zirkzee already occupying the main centre-forward roles at Old Trafford.
According to journalist Pete O'Rourke on the Transfer Insider podcast, Manchester United hold a long-standing interest in Mateta, but any pursuit will hinge on outgoing transfers. Should Zirkzee or another forward depart amid interest from European clubs, United could reconsider a move for the Palace forward.
