"No matter whether he is 13, 14, or 15, he’s playing international cricket. Saim Ayub is not a kid. He should focus on his performances," Akmal said

Former Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal criticized Saim Ayub for his baby cradle celebration after dismissing India's 15-year-old batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the Asian Games 2026 gold medal match. Speaking on a sports discussion show, Akmal argued that Pakistan players are doing things for social media instead of focusing on their on-field performances.
Ayub took Sooryavanshi's wicket early, but Pakistan still failed to restrict India or chase down the target. Sooryavanshi, who walked off quietly after the celebration, was recently featured in TIME magazine's phenom list following record-breaking stints in domestic cricket and the Indian Premier League.
