MMO Report Card: Bo Bichette, 3B

David Melendi of Metsmerized gives New York Mets third baseman Bo Bichette a C+ grade for his 2026 season. Bichette struggled significantly over the first two months, posting a .570 OPS through early June before rebounding to slash .289/.337/.447 across his final 99 games. Overall, he finished the year batting .260 with 18 home runs and 78 RBIs in 160 games.

Defensively, Bichette transitioned solidly to third base, posting one out above average in 113 appearances. Looking ahead, Bichette faces an upcoming decision on a $42 million player option for 2027, which includes a $5 million buyout. Teammate Francisco Lindor expressed strong support for Bichette's return, predicting he will perform significantly better in his second season.
