‘This is the life of Dele Alli now’ – Former Spurs star sighs after old teammate does not pick up the call

A viral social media clip shows former Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli calling former teammate Eric Dier on a live stream, only for Dier not to answer. Dele reacted to the unanswered call by remarking, "This is the life of Dele now." Writer Gerard Crispin characterizes the moment as a reflection of the 30-year-old free agent's sharp career decline.

Dele has not made a competitive appearance since being released by Italian club Como in September 2025. Although he trained with Barnet during the summer without a contract offer and has expressed a desire to return to professional football, he remains without a club following prior stints at Everton and Besiktas.
