Hubbard, whose full name is Chuba Robert-Shamar Hubbard, carries an Igbo name meaning "God of prosperity" or "God of abundance." Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, to a Nigerian father and Canadian mother, he starred at Oklahoma State before entering the NFL, later signing a four-year, $33.2 million contract extension with Carolina in 2024.
