In a contract year, Artturi Lehkonen is off to the best two-game start of his NHL career while continuing to play the same relentless game that has made him so valuable to the Avalanche.

Artturi Lehkonen has started his 10th NHL season with three goals in two games for the Colorado Avalanche, marking the best two-game start of his career. The 29-year-old forward is currently playing in the final season of a five-year, $22.5 million contract he signed in July 2022.
Teammate Cale Makar and head coach Jared Bednar praised Lehkonen's relentless work ethic and two-way play, noting he already appears to be in midseason form. His strong performances have raised questions about his future with Colorado as a contract decision looms.
