The White Sox finished off the Astros with a 7-3 win on Wednesday to secure their first playoff series win since beating Houston in the 2005 World Series.

The Chicago White Sox swept the Houston Astros in the AL wild-card series with a 7-3 victory in Game 2 on Wednesday at Daikin Park. The win secured Chicago's first postseason series victory since winning the World Series in 2005. Second baseman Chase Meidroth provided the decisive blow with a three-run home run off Houston reliever Bryan Abreu in the sixth inning.
Prior to Meidroth's home run, White Sox pitcher Anthony Kay escaped a bases-loaded jam in the fifth inning by retiring Yordan Álvarez and Jose Altuve. Managed by Will Venable, the young White Sox team now advances to face the Cleveland Guardians in the American League Division Series.
