Mathis Albert made his senior international debut with the USMNT last month before scoring a goal that made him their youngest ever in history.

ESPN reporter Herculez Gomez praised Borussia Dortmund teenager Mathis Albert, highlighting that he is the only American teenager currently in a European club setup. Speaking on the Duel Nats podcast, Gomez emphasized that despite recent attention on Cavan Sullivan, Albert is making waves in Europe by featuring in Champions League and Bundesliga squads.
Albert joined Borussia Dortmund from LA Galaxy in 2024 and became the youngest American Bundesliga debutant against Freiburg in April. He recently debuted for Mauricio Pochettino's USMNT squad, scoring in a 4-2 victory over Chile, and remains the only player under 20 among the 13 European-based players on the roster.
