David Hemp takes charge of Bangladesh women's team ahead of a three-match ODI series against world number one Australia, starting October 9 in Brisbane.
Newly appointed Bangladesh women's head coach David Hemp has backed his squad ahead of their upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia in Brisbane. The Bangladesh Cricket Board confirmed Hemp's appointment on September 30, 2026, signing him to a two-year contract through September 2028. Hemp replaces former head coach Sarowar Imran, taking charge just before the series commences on October 9 at Allan Border Field.
Hemp, who previously served as the team's batting coach, described facing the world number one Australian side as a major challenge and a valuable learning opportunity. Despite recent leadership changes, including Nigar Sultana stepping down as T20I captain, Hemp emphasized unity, stating that the squad's current ranking does not reflect their true quality.
