The Ottawa Senators have recalled defenseman Jorian Donovan from their AHL affiliate, the Belleville Senators. The roster move brings Ottawa up to the maximum limit of 23 active players and provides defensive depth while star blueliner Jake Sanderson is evaluated for an injury that will sideline him for the next few games.
Donovan, a 22-year-old fifth-round selection from the 2022 draft, recorded 21 points in 61 AHL games last season while also appearing in two NHL contests. While veteran Cameron Crotty is also an option to enter the lineup, Donovan offers a natural left-shot alternative as the team manages injuries to both Sanderson and Artem Zub.
