Nearly a decade after being traded away in the Matt Duchene deal, former Sens first rounder Shane Bowers has returned to the organization, scoring in his B-Sens debut.
Former Ottawa Senators first-round pick Shane Bowers has returned to the organization after signing a professional tryout contract with the AHL's Belleville Senators. The 27-year-old forward scored in his debut on Friday night during Belleville's 5-2 season-opening loss to the Hamilton Hammers.
Ottawa originally selected Bowers 28th overall in the 2017 NHL Draft before trading him months later in the November 2017 blockbuster deal for Matt Duchene. Now in his ninth professional season, Bowers has appeared in 13 career NHL games across stints with Colorado and New Jersey.
