Southampton striker Cyle Larin is a major doubt for Sunday's derby against Portsmouth after sustaining a minor back injury on international duty. Canada manager Jesse Marsch revealed the forward suffered the injury in the weights room prior to missing a friendly against Peru. Larin, who won September's Championship player of the month award after scoring eight goals in 10 matches, faces an ongoing fitness assessment ahead of the match.
Saints manager Tonda Eckert also faces uncertainty over goalkeeper Daniel Peretz, who withdrew from Israel's squad during the international break. Meanwhile, Portsmouth are contending with their own extensive injury list, with defenders Conor Shaughnessy and Benjy Arthur among eight players expected to miss the visit to St Mary's.
